HRT - High Resolution Technology & Petroleum is proud of
presenting to our friends, partners, clients and employees the newest form
of disclosure of our activities: HRT News.
In
face of the fantastic growth of our company, we realize the need of
establishing, on a periodical basis, a new space of communication, to
provide the exact view of the latest occurrences: the new projects, the new
conquers and the new enterprises – such as the organizations of the BID of
exploration of the "Cuvette Centrale", Democratic Republic of
Congo, in Africa, and the inauguration of the second laboratory of HRT, in
Rio de Janeiro, one of the most modern ones in the world in the area of oil
geochemistry.
With
the intention of creating a direct, fast accessible and totally transparent
communication medium, we will reflect in this report the reality of our
actions and reaffirm our commitment with excellence and with the walk
towards the joint realization of our dreams and goals.
We
offer a medium of communication, which we intend to be used by all, for the
exchange of information and suggestions that may be relevant in the
contribution to tighten our relationship.
This
is only the first meeting, of many to come.
We will always be
together. See you soon!

Towards
the future
An
avalanche of good businesses, new partners and a collection of successes
marked the last two years of High Resolution Technology & Petroleum.
Performing in all segments of the oil exploitation chain from the molecular
geochemistry part through the technology of location of gas and oil
seepages by satellite, HRT is totally enabled in the characterization and
identification of the elements and processes of the oil systems in any
sedimentary basin located in the Southern Hemisphere.
Expansion
is the word of order. Maintaining its laboratory in Cachambi, northern Rio
de Janeiro, HRT increases its infrastructure with the inauguration, in
August, of its second laboratory, in Botafogo, for high resolution
analyses: Last generation technology, with one of the most modern oil, gas
and microbiology geochemistry laboratories in the planet.

With
offices and strategic partnerships in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Mexico,
HRT intends to diffuse and unify the use of the "Petroleum System
Approach/ high resolution technologies" in Latin America, with
activities in the oil basins of the South Atlantic and Subandines. The strategy of more audacious flights
led the company, since 2007, to enter the African continent, with expansion
to Namibia and Congo. In Congo, it has ongoing plans to develop a modern
and complex laboratory, in the area of environmental and oil geochemistry,
with international standards. HRT has formalized, about one year ago, an
important covenant with the Democratic Republic of Congo, to be the
promoter, with the Congolese State-owned CoHydro, for the BID of the
Central Basin of Congo (Cuvette Centrale).
Its
technical staff - comprised by MSc's and PhD's - adds more than 250
professionals with international expertise within HRT and in the sister
companies in Latin América, such as GEMS, GEOMEX, Corplab and HRT-Peru,
forming the potency HRT is today -
"The Petroleum System Company".
In a
short time period, HRT became the best, most complete and most solid
company of services and consultancy, within the oil industry chain. And it
keeps growing, at large leaps, advising and helping the world to keep
moving.

Congo Bid Round in 2010
HRT and the Democratic Republic of Congo celebrated and agreement for the
evaluation and subdivision of Cuvette Centrale; implementation of the
database and creation of a laboratory for oil and environment. In addition
to the promotion, organization and execution of one round of bidding of
blocks for onshore exploration, in 2010. One interdisciplinary team of HRT,
of CoHydro and of the Ministry of Hydrocarbons of R.D.C. will format the
whole BID ROUND to be carried out, in 2010, in R.D.C.
We
should stress that the Central Basin called Cuvette Centralle is one of the
last large exploratory frontiers for oil and gas in the planet.
Maranhão and Acre Basins
HRT Petroleum won the tenders of ANP - Agência Nacional do Petróleo – for
collection and analysis of soil samples in the basins of São Luis, in
Maranhão, and of Acre, aiming surface geochemistry, and microbiology
using DNA analyses of
hydrocarbon-consuming bacteria.
In
June, the activities in São Luís Basin were initiated, and, until
mid-August 2008, three teams of geologists collected around 1000 samples
which are being analyzed in our laboratories in Rio de Janeiro.
The
vice-president of HRT, Nilo Azambuja, the operations manager of HRT &
Petróleum for these projects, Paulo Gutman, and more two technicians of
ANP, visited Cruzeiro do Sul, in Acre, starting the planning for the
collection of 2000 soil samples in that region. Two of the five teams are
already executing the collection through river access, with camps on the
banks of the rivers. The end of the collections is expected for early
November.

Created
in 2004, HRT & Petroleum was already born with an environmental
vocation developing and applying techniques capable of contributing with
the diagnosis, monitoring and all kinds of environmental analyses. In
partnership with the company PiR2 and fulfilling the environmental dynamic,
HRT aligns principles of energetic efficiency to the studies minimizing
environmental risks.
In
this moment, one multidisciplinary team develops a set of actions oriented
to social and environmental responsibility, through democratization of
information and access to culture; initiatives of qualification and
generation of income; and the most important, the diffusion of methods and
techniques in the incentive to conscious consumption and production
practices.
With
the intent of collaborating for the broad development of critical
conscience around the social-environmental issues, this column will bring
concepts, novelties, testimonies and reflections allowing the exchange of
experiences and knowledge.
Collaborate,
do your part. We await your participation!

I give up

Nilo
Azambuja
Vice-President
The
sea receives the employees and visitors of HRT – an aquarium and its
beings: the whole and its parts, the observation of the macro and micro
universe. In the analysis of Nilo Azambuja (PhD), vice-president of HRT and
the first invitee of this section, this is one of the great teachings of
geology: the holistic view.
In
the doubt between Geology, Law and Engineering, the childhood in the
countryside and the proximity with nature ended up defining the right
choice for life’s path. In 1976, Nilo finished geology college in Porto
Alegre/ Rio Grande do Sul and began his career in Petrobras, in Natal/ Rio
Grande do Norte.
A
Doctorate in England and a wide range of experience: Angola; Turkey,
Antarctica (40 days inside a container) and North Pole (in the company of
polar bears). Having gone from pole to pole, it is easy to comprehend that
Earth, to Nilo, is not that big...
Nilo
is today the responsible for the management of the whole technical part of
HRT, in charge, mainly, of the areas of exploitation and of the modeling
projects: "I took responsibility for the group of analyses of Basins
and oil systems, and some more businesses. HRT has various activities!” -
he reports, with some pride.
His
attention is oriented to the contracts with ANP and with the teams spread
throughout Maranhão, Acre, Recôncavo, Rio do Peixe and Espírito Santo, in
Brazil. The "third view" inspects Congo, Benin, Angola and
Namibia, in the African continent – new challenges to HRT.
His concerns? Efficiency and high quality of the services
rendered, giving priority to harmony among all parts - clients, partners
and employees – as a “whole”, of which he is also a part: High Resolution
Technology & Petroleum.
